    Description

    Position Objective:

    As the Shipping Clerk you will prepare finished products for shipment in accordance with company procedures and customer specifications. In this role you must be detail oriented when reviewing ship requests and customer requirements, ensuring shipments will meet the customers quality and on-time demands.

    Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
    • Process products for shipment to customers, utilizing company computer systems to identify customer specific requirements.
    • Utilize carrier shipment systems (UPS Worldship and Fed Ex) to set up and track shipments.
    • Run Pick Lists throughout the day ensuring that orders are being processed for shipment.
    • Coordinate with Customer Relation Specialist and Scheduling to ensure orders are being processed and shipped on-time.
    • As the shipping clerk you will also attend daily scheduling meetings. Review with CRSs and Scheduling on any late orders, orders on-time, or expedited orders.
    • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
    • Operate a Forklift, pulling inventory, loading / unloading trucks.
    • Ship products from inventory in such a manner using the First in / First out method.
    • Pull roll stock using the Stock Allocation Report
    • Assist in off-line packaging including counting of product to place in bundles, bundle packing, shrink wrapping, and stretch wrapping as needed.
    • Lead the inventory along with variance reporting and corrections
    • Ensure 100% adherence and use of the scan gun with every member who touches inventory.
    • Ensure fully complete orders in Radius.
    • Notify Purchasing / Quality Manager of any damaged products so claims are issued.
    • Keep work area neat and orderly.
    Secondary Responsibilities:
    • Receiving incoming products, roll stock, finished products, and miscellaneous items.
    • Notify Purchasing / Quality Manager of incoming products that are damaged.
    • Review production schedule and pull roll stock for printing press using First in / First out method.
    • Taking back roll stock from the printing presses and putting them back into inventory.
    • Operate a Forklift, pulling inventory, loading / unloading trucks.
    • Supply pallets for finished product.
    • Manage the warehouse, keeping racks and floor neat and orderly.
    • Supply Core IDs and Box labels to rewinder and turret operators.
    • Assemble and tape cartons for the finishing operators.
    Apply core tags to rolls, place rolls into cartons or bags, pack cartons with packaging material, tape cartons shut, apply the box labels, and place finished product on carts or pallets.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:
    Education and Experience:
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Prior experience as a shipping clerk or similar role within a warehouse environment.
    Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Be mechanically inclined.
    • Above average computer skills
    • Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Must be able to work in a team environment.
    • Ability to read work tickets and interpret written information to provide the proper supplies to the press.
    • Ability to do basic math and measurements.
    • Must be proactive and detail oriented to catch problems or inconsistencies and bring them to managements attention.
    • Good organization skills.
    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • None
    Physical Demands:
    • Lifting, standing, crouching, stair climbing with a load, and associated repetitive tasks.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs with assistance.
    • Pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug screening.
    Work Environment:
    • Regular exposure to dust and noise in the production environment.
    Personal Protective Equipment Required:
    • Steel toe shoes are highly recommended in the shipping and production environment.
