    Preferred Qualifications:

    JOB SUMMARY

    Supports patients rights through maintaining the confidentiality and processing of protected health information (PHI) in accordance with hospital policies and state/federal laws/regulations. Ensures timely medical record completion in compliance with federal, state, and hospital standards, as well as hospital policies/procedures. Promotes timeliness and quality of medical records completion through an electronic record processing and tracking system for prepping, scanning, indexing, quality assurance, and analysis for every patients record and for every encounter. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while simultaneously fostering an environment of support and teamwork for assuring a balanced workload and optimal productivity. Also, must possess adaptability and flexibility for learning new concepts, skills, and dealing with many different situations in a professional and confidential manner. It is also required that the individual can embrace a continuous improvement environment where each member contributes to their own learning as well as partnering with their co-workers. Must have the ability to organize and prioritize work to meet quality and productive standards, work effectively with rapidly changing priorities, and articulate problems and offer potential solutions.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Required Licenses

    AHIMA Credentialed Preferred.

    Minimum Education

    Courses in medical record office procedures, medical terminology, as well as anatomy and physiology are desired.

    Minimum Work Experience

    One to two years of experience in health information/medical records systems.

    Required Skills

    Medical terminology required. Must possess excellent customer service skills exhibiting composure, tact, and maturity required in the interaction with physicians, coworkers, and other customers. Must possess excellent phone etiquette. Must possess an aptitude for clerical tasks with a desire for accuracy in detail, organized tasks. Must have problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize and balance workload. Basic computer literacy required.
