    Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg Job Summary:

    A Medical Surgical Travel Nurse provides bedside care, conducts patient assessments, and administers medications. This role requires 1-2 years of acute care experience and involves educating patients and their families while managing various medical tasks.

    Job Description & Requirements

    • Specialty: Med Surg
    • Discipline: RN
    • Duration: 13 weeks
    • 36 hours per week
    • Shift: 12 hours, nights
    • Employment Type: Travel

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
    • Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
    • Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
    • Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
    • Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
    • Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
    • Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
    • Educates patients on surgical procedures.
    • Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.

    Requirements:

    • Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
    • At least 1-2 years of acute care experience.
