Job Duties

Then this position may be a good match for you This position provides supervisory leadership within the community nursing team and provides direct client care services for the long-term services and support (LTSS) screenings and Tuberculosis (TB) programs.
The public health nurse supervisor exercises line supervision over multiple registered nurses by training, scheduling, formally evaluating performance and issuing discipline.
Also performs direct nursing service by independently providing professional nursing care to patients in clinics, homes, and schools.Performs nursing assessments, may perform lab tests, take measurements, develop and implement care plans, including the administration of medication and case management.
Actions performed at this level require licensure as a RN by state code. Leadership responsibilities also include program oversight, program evaluation, consultation, and technical assistance. Other duties involve caseload data tracking, client referral follow-up/management, and community outreach.In the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor, all public health nurses are required to assume other duties for the districts' emergency preparedness and response (EP&R) activities, including but not limited to points-of-dispensing (POD) mass vaccination events and shelter coverage.
During declared emergencies, this will require an adjustment to work hours, location, job duties as well as participation in trainings to meet public health business needs.
Additional potential work-schedule variations include participation in community outreach events and other EP&R assignments, such as communicable disease and/or epidemiological investigation events as well as locality emergency shelter coverage.
