    Job Summary

    The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE)- Office of School Improvement are recruiting for an experienced Graduates Ready to Attain Success Post-Secondary (GRASP) Program Specialist. Under the direction of the Office of School and District Improvement Program Manager for Statewide Supports, the Graduates Ready to Attain Success in Post-Secondary (GRASP) Program Specialist coordinates the implementation of the GRASP grant at eligible schools to support the effective implementation of a variety of continuous improvement supports. The GRASP Program Specialist collaborates with GaDOE staff and district/school leaders to guide and support the GRASP grant implementation. The job responsibilities include, but not limited to:

    Description of Duties

  • Support districts and schools to implement the grant with fidelity
  • Provide counselors with ongoing support through coaching and training opportunities that support program interventions
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor the impact of professional development for school counselors and leaders
  • Support the planning, implementation and monitoring of interventions and strategies aligned with identified needs
  • Ensure an appropriate caseload has been established according to the guideline of the grant
  • Establish and maintain effective communication between state and district leaders
  • Facilitate diagnostic and progress monitoring review processes at districts and schools
  • Collect and disaggregate grant impact data
  • Analyze data at school levels to engage in data-driven decision making for at-risk intervention counseling processes and goals
  • Liaise between district/school needs and state agency supports and resources
  • Identify and scale up innovative practices, high-leverage instructional practices, and evidence-based strategies to support schools, districts and state agency to effectively engage in continuous improvement
  • Preferred Qualifications

    Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

  • Successful experience and skill in leading effective school and district counseling initiatives
  • Experience in building the capacity of organizations to improve processes and better outcomes
  • Experience and skills in coordinating and effectively utilizing a variety of resources to meet program goals
  • Successful experience and skill in program management
  • Experience in coaching school and district leaders and counselors
  • Proven data analysis and visualization expertise
  • The successful candidate should possess the following skills/abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices to support at-risk students
  • Ability to problem-solve and to create organizational structures that facilitate efficient systems for others
  • Ability to work independently and to remove barriers to performance
  • Strong collaborative, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in fluid and often changing situations
  • Knowledge and effective use of technology platforms, especially the Microsoft Suite

    Master's degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Seven years of related experience.
