    Description of the Position:
    (Purpose of the Position): To provide administrative and clerical support for study abroad/away programs, staff, and students.

    • Deeper understanding of the role of international education in the collegiate setting

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ability to work quickly and efficiently with limited direct supervision
    • Update, maintain, and edit information in TerraDotta/Studio Abroad and on the Smith Center for Global Engagement study abroad/away website
    • Create and collect enrollment reports and data from semester and year programs
    • Communicate deadlines, send reminders, and collect data from faculty, staff and students
    • Send templated emails to faculty, students, and staff
    • Enroll students and faculty in State Department STEP program
    • Assist with office events on-campus (i.e. fairs, re-entry events, and info sessions)
    • Assist study abroad/away staff as needed
    • Student advising and outreach as assigned
    • Greet visitors when they enter the office
    • Answer the phone and obtain messages
    • Other duties as assigned

    • Student Work Award Recipient
    • Studied abroad/away on Smith Center program
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Knowledge and willingness to support, respect and commit to embracing diverse backgrounds, values and points of view to build a strong inclusive community
    • Flexibility to work 90 minute shifts

    ABILITIES:

    • Skill in using computer applications including databases, word-processing, spreadsheets and web page maintenance
    • Skill in interpersonal and written communication
    • Work independently and complete duties as assigned
    • Ability to be flexible, willing to help out and adjust workload quickly
    • Skill in completing tasks accurately and with attention to detail
