    Job Description Job Description JOB DESCRIPTIONGryphon Environmental is seeking a full-time Restoration Program Specialist (RPS). The RPS work closely with the Restoration Program Manager to provide professional, administrative, and technical support to the U.S. Army Reserves (USAR) 88th Readiness Division (RD) Installation Restoration Program (IRP).

    The RPS supports the restoration efforts for active sites within the area of responsibility under the Army Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP).

    In addition to remedial actions, the RPS supports/assists/interprets site investigations as part of the CERCLA process.

    RPS support involves a wide range of activities, including technical report review, active communication with all project stakeholders by teleconferences and meetings throughout the life of the site, input for contract requests and scopes-of-work, development of site investigation plans, field work oversight, development and maintenance of the Information Repository required for each site, participation in public meetings required by CERCLA in support of remedial strategies, and file management for the extensive historical records maintained on the 88th RD share-drive.

    The RPM also works with DPW staff, USACE, and ARIMD to manage environmental contamination issues encountered during real estate transactions, master planning efforts, construction projects, and demolition projects.


    REQUIREMENTS:


    Qualifications (Education and Experience)Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering or other science related field.5+ years of progressive experience in environmental restoration management or related field.

    Entry-level candidates (2-4 yrs. of experience) will be considered after primary candidates.
    Background in Site clean-up and Restoration program management, planning and budgeting, project management, and scheduling.
    Experience in developing scopes of work and independent cost estimates.
    Self-starters who will take ownership of environmental affairs at multiple facilities and are able to multi-task.
    Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to environmental management.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface and effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

    Confidence, willingness, and ability to conduct presentations and provide training sessions to small and large groups of people.

    Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office and willing and able to learn new software systems specific to the USAR.Environmental registration or certification, such as CHMM, CES, REM, REP, etc.

    are a plus.
    Experience working with the federal government or military are a plus.
    Additional Eligibility RequirementsMust have a valid U.S. drivers license.
    Must be able to pass a Department of Army background investigation.
    Must pass drug screening.
    Must have access to a reliable automobile.
    Must be willing to travel.

    Travel constitutes approximately 15% of the job, primarily within the assigned region, but also includes some travel outside of the assigned region.
