    JOB SUMMARY

    As a Radiation Protection ALARA Specialist, you'll be in charge of leading and executing various radiation protection programs, including ALARA, planning, scheduling, and attending essential meetings.


    JOB DUTIES

    • Oversee the Radiation Work Permit Program.
    • Monitor collective radiation exposure for personnel and tasks.
    • Develop and implement As-Low-As-Reasonably-Achievable (ALARA) radiation dose strategies.
    • Suggest efficient tools and methods for work.
    • Collaborate with Health Physicists on dosimetry for accurate radiation exposure tracking.
    • Establish area monitoring for high-risk activities.
    • Analyze radiological source terms to support RP programs.
    • Contribute to procedure updates, ALARA Managers Committee presentations, and more.
    • Assist in creating Radiation Work Permits and ALARA Plans.
    • Participate in the Emergency Response Organization.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent.

    Experience: 4 years of commercial or military nuclear experience with at least 4 years in radiation protection.

    Skills: Proficiency in RP Support, understanding of nuclear generation principles, and familiarity with Sentinel Radiation Protection Management Program and business applications.


    Certificates or Licenses: None required.

    ANSI Certification: Not required.
