- Masters or doctorate degree from accredited nursing program
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (adult health) in New York State (Board Certification)
- Maintains a current license in New York State as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner (Active RN and APNP license)
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Certification in oncology nursing
- Certification in administration of chemotherapeutic agents and/or biologic agents
- Two (2) years of oncology experience preferred
- Ability to manage acute sensitivity/allergic reactions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to prioritize tasks

Summary:
The Infusion Center Nurse Practitioner functions as an independent health care provider who, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, is responsible for coordinating comprehensive care in an outpatient setting through assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluation.
He/She demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses including oncology patients.
He/She is responsible for assessment, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patient during treatments.He/She is responsible for any infusion order clarifications from CHS or Non-CHS providers that refer patients to the infusion center as it related to hospital policy and pharmacy state and federal regulations.
He/She works collaboratively with the pharmacy department regarding any order clarifications and is responsible for compliance with all hospital-based regulations.
The Nurse Practitioner demonstrates an advanced level of medical/nursing, oncology clinical knowledge, communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professional practice.He/She works with administrative, nursing, and physicians to assure safe, effective, quality patient care and to promote Catholic Health's mission, vision and values.
In addition, he/she has a strong understanding of the business end, including but not limited to oncology billing and coding.
