Full Time Legal Assistant or Paralegal
Law offices of Hoy and Sahlas, LLC
Solo practitioner Colleen L. Sahlas is the owner and successor to her father's law firm with an active practice in Estate Planning and Probate & decedent's estate/trust administration law seeking a full time legal assistant for 30-35 hrs./week (Monday through Thursday) at our Oak Brook Mall office location. This is an on-site position only.
Opportunity to learn and manage the office in a friendly work environment. Position requires drafting legal documents and pleadings, e-filing court pleadings, cover letters, office management, invoicing/billing, electronic case management, filing, client interactions, occasional UPS drop offs, and clerical work. Physicality requirement: occasionally using a step stool; lifting storage room file boxes.
This position will provide a full range of administrative support to a solo practitioner in a timely and efficient manner.
Proven self-starter with excellent written & verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required. Greeting clients in a friendly and professional manner is a must. Must have 55+wpm typing ability, be competent in drafting cover letters, Word and WordPerfect and adept at learning the MyCase practice management program. Must be self-reliant, quick study, enthusiastic, teachable, able to prioritize, juggle many tasks, and handle a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
Hourly rate $22-$26 depending on skill level and experience; accrued PTO, 3% match for Simple IRA; no benefits.
