Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Mine Engineer. The primary function of this position is to provide engineering support to the mine operating department.
Summary of Responsibilities:
+ Willing to learn and accept responsibility in areas such as; drilling, blasting, dispatch system administration, and short and long-range mine planning.
+ Willing to fill in where needed; including GPS surveying, drone pilot, and special projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelors degree in Mine Engineering, Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering is required.
+ Must have experience in Vulcan Mine Software, or similar programs.
+ Training or experience in surveying/GPS is required.
+ Good understanding of general business concepts.
+ Computer Skills - Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office software.
+ Willingness to learn new technologies.
+ People Skills - Must have demonstrated successful interpersonal skills
+ Must be a champion of safe production methods & ideals. Promotes continuous improvement. Must understand safety, mine and MSHA rules, environmental policies and procedures and operate in an environmentally responsible manner.
+ Organizational Skills Must have the ability to plan and coordinate multiple work tasks with a variety of employees, departments and outside contractors. Must be able to set goals and develop strategies and schedules to accomplish goals.
+ Decision Making Skills Utilize a collaborative approach to problem solving and function within a self-direct team environment.
+ Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Previous related engineering experience is preferred.
+ Experience in ArcView GIS Software is preferred.
