    Description

    Overview of the Position:

    Responsible for but not limited to the following: transportation of the patient medications and supplies to physician's office, medical practice, patient's residence, pharmacy, or other place of designated delivery. When employee is not out making deliveries, they will be responsible for customer service responsibilities, including bagging filled prescriptions into pharmacy will call system, and checking out patients who are picking up prescriptions inside the pharmacy and the drive thru.

    Education and Experience:


    •High School Diploma or GED required


    •1-2 years of Pharmacy, Medical office or Hospital experience, preferred


    •Previous delivery experience preferred

    Required Skills / Abilities:


    •Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and posted schedules


    •Possess knowledge and / or ability to learn about occupational hazards and safety precautions


    •Ability to carry out duties with minimal daily supervision


    •Demonstrates the ability to work in a high pressure environment


    •Strong active listening skills and attention to detail


    •Pleasant, friendly attitude with the ability to adapt to change is essential


    •Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees


    •Ability to be flexible with changing priorities, work volume, procedures, and variety of tasks


    •Ability to communicate effectively utilizing both oral and written means.


    •Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously while working efficiently, effectively, and independently


    •Ability to maintain a clean driving record

    Supervisory Responsibilities:


    •No supervisory responsibilities

    Essential Job Functions:


    •Place and receive delivery order(s) over the phone


    •Collect payments for prescriptions as needed


    •Ensure address and contents delivered matches the delivery manifest


    •Verify patient name and date of birth with patient or designated agent for each delivery or inside pharmacy transaction


    •Request for signature when delivering prescriptions or checking out patients inside the pharmacy, complete delivery logs and return delivery logs in a timely manner


    •Obtain a government issued phot identification for patients receiving a controlled substance and document as required by law for both deliveries and upon checking out inside the pharmacy


    •Abide by all state and local driving regulations as described by the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Transportation


    •Assists with other tasks as assigned

    Physical Requirements:

    Must possess the ability to communicate in the dominant language of the geographic region.

    Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Vision and hearing corrected to within normal limits is required.

    Must have manual dexterity to key in data; utilize computer, grab, grip, hold, tear, cut, sort, and

    reach.
