    Purpose: Primary accomplishments, products, and services, who benefits from them and how.

    • Responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the operation of tool design.
    • To assure effective and efficient utilization of departmental resource and the production of quality and cost-effective tool design.
    • Interface with customers and suppliers to schedule tooling effort to meet customer requirement.
    • Discharge other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the vice president of manufacturing.

    Essential Duties: What has to be done to achieve the desired results of the job?

    • Coordinate with the Vice President on quoting and tool design and operation of the department.
    • Organize, Plan, Delegate and Control the activities of the Engineering and Staff.
    • Coordination of engineering and manufacturing activities to achieve the highest possible quality maximum manufacturing flexibility, highest possible yields, and on time deliveries.
    • Build and maintain an effective staff that addresses the needs of the entire organization. The team will solicit and consider input from the departments served.
    • Communicate with customers to assure their requirements are met.
    • Order materials and supplies required to support the departments activities.
    • Control department cad system and company documents.
    • Support the continuous improvement process of all departments.
    • Assist supervisors as needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

    Minimum Requirements: What is required to perform the Essential Duties?

    Must be able to perform all duties and meet requirements with or without accommodation.

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Must have completed an industry apprenticeship or equivalent (machinist, tool and die, etc.)

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a verity of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.

    Ability to read and interpret document such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

    Ability to write routine correspondence and reports.

    Must have ability to successfully complete all training requirements listed on training matrix for this position.

    Must be available for scheduled work: normal workday of 9-10 hours, more or less hours, as necessary.
