    Primary responsibilities as a BAE

    Networks Systems Engineer:


    Planning, installing, configuring, and documenting network hardware and software such as routers, firewalls, switches, VPNs, VLAN's, and wireless access points.

    Planning, implementing, and supporting Microsoft platforms such as Office 365, SharePoint, and Exchange.


    Planning, implementing, migrating, and maintaining Microsoft Server (2008 to modern version) including Active Directory, GPO's, file sharing, application support, basic Powershell commands, and security best practices.

    Physical wiring and troubleshooting experience from data port, to cabling, to patch and switching.

    Providing technical support during business hours across the company (including both on-site and remote).

    Provide emergency after hours support during rotating on-call schedule (1 week every 2 months, approximately).

    Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed technology to aid sales and management in making implementation decisions.

    Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and services.

    Assist other departments when needed.


    Skill requirements:
    Microsoft Office 365 (administration, maintenance, migration, and tenant design)

    End to End Networking (Firewalling, security, switching, VLAN configuration, traffic filtering, wireless configuration and administration)

    Microsoft Server both virtual and physical instance creation and administration (recent versions, roles, AD, GPOs, shares, etc)

    Hypervisors (VMware and Hyper-V)

    Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products.

    Key non-technical skills for success:

    Comfortability with travelling when needed in local SE Michigan area.

    Highly self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail in a faster paced environment.

    Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities that fit both client and company requirements.

    Customer oriented and ability to communicate with the clients in a clear and concise manner.

    Provide guidance and limited training with clients on how their technology works.

    Open to learning new things and remaining flexible in technology changes or processes.

    Excellent planning, documenting, and organization skills with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
