    Position: Maintenance Manager

    Department: Operations

    Position Reports to: General Manager/Managing Director

    FLSA Status: Salary, Exempt

    Location: Site

    Position Summary

    To plan, manage, and coordinate activities concerned with design, construction modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery by performing the following duties personally, through maintenance Associates or through outside contract arrangements.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities

    • Provide supervision and guidance to all maintenance personnel, including the areas of preventative maintenance, task assignments, performance management, attendance/timekeeping, training, position movement, and disciplinary actions.
    • Identify troubled machinery and processes then determine the extent of necessary repairs or improvements: repair, refit, or replace.
    • Read, maintain, and update maintenance instructions, manuals, electrical prints, mechanical drawings, and maintenance data entry software.
    • Coordinate and supervise contractors performing work on-site, including presenting contractor safety before any contract work begins. Prepares specifications on building and equipment requirements for outside bidding.
    • Test newly installed machinery and equipment to ensure fulfillment of purchase specifications.
    • Work as necessary to keep plant equipment in optimum operating condition to meet plant production schedules.
    • Must be on call and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
    • Travel to other HEXPOL locations may be required.
    • Perform any other project/task as assigned by Management.

    Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. (Technical degree Mechanical or Electrical Engineering concentration). Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
    • Seven (7) years of leadership/supervisory experience in a maintenance position, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
    • Thorough understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, electrical and electronic control systems, pneumatics, HVAC, rubber industry production equipment, internal combustion engines, single and three phase electric motors.
    • Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Proficient computer/systems skills – MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook). Knowledge of E-Maintenance, CMMS, SAP, and PLCs, preferred.
    • Solid organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and manage a broad range of responsibilities.
    • High degree of concentration, attention to detail, high energy, self-motivated and self-reliant.
    • Ability to manage, coach and develop Associates.
    • Ability to interact well with all personality types in a leadership role.
    • Strong cooperation, collaboration, and team-building skills.
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
    • Ability to handle personal and confidential information.
