    OPS REGISTERED NURSE at Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs

    Alwyn C. Cashe State Veterans' Nursing Home - Orlando, Orange County

    Hourly Rate: $30.00 - Paid Bi-Weekly

    Job Details:

    • 13-hour shifts between 6:45 am - 8:35 pm and 6:45 pm - 8:35 am

    Requirements:

    • Current Florida Registered Nurse License
    • Current CPR certification
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
    • Willingness to work evening, night, or weekend shifts
    • Successful completion of background check and drug screen

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility
    • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records
    • Experience with medication administration

    Responsibilities:

    The incumbent will be responsible for administering treatments and medications, providing direct ADL care, and fulfilling diagnostic procedures per physician's orders. They will work under the supervision of the Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor.

    • Receive and transcribe physician's orders
    • Make rounds with healthcare personnel
    • Monitor and review resident incidents
    • Provide supervision for the facility as needed
    • Assign work duties to staff
    • Recognize and respond to changes in residents' conditions
    • Document observations accurately
    • Assist physicians with tests and procedures
    • Attend to residents' care plans and updates
    • Maintain professional nursing standards
    • Adhere to all rules and regulations
    • Attend in-services and meetings as required
    • Ensure supplies and equipment are utilized properly
    • Maintain valid CPR certification
    • Perform other assigned duties

    This position falls under the Other Personnel Service system.
