Job Overview

Provides quality anesthesia for elective and emergency cases. The responsibilities include induction, maintenance, and emergence at a safe and required level for the procedure and in appropriate response to the patient's age, size and medical condition. The responsibilities of this position include considering the needs of infant, toddler, pre-school, school age, adolescent and young adult patients.

Responsibilities

Checks anesthesia equipment according to current guidelines

Formulates anesthetic plan based on birth history, physicial examination, and laboratory results

Inserts endotracheal tubes and intravenous catheters

Sets up intravenous and intra-arterial fluid systems appropriately

Utilizes all current techniques of monitoring

Ensures intra-operative patient management is appriopriate

Ensures patient management in the PACU is appropriate

Minimum:

Doctorate

Preferred:

5+ years of pediatric anesthesiology experience
