Job Summary:
Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC)'s Bedford County Hospital (VBCH) diagnostic laboratories team, located in Shelbyville, Tennessee (TN), is seeking to hire a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) 2, whom will report to the VUMC Bedford County Diagnostic Labs, Diagnostic Laboratory Team Leaders (DLTL)'s, and whom will have responsibility for performing routine clinical pathology testing and instrument management of laboratory services under occasional guidance.
This is an exciting and dynamic laboratory at the cutting edge of patient care, providing applicants with the opportunity to learn and develop new technologies and diagnostics, including ongoing cross-training within our diagnostic labs - which includes Core, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Hematology, Serology, and Blood Bank benches.
Additional responsibilities include routine diagnostics testing; assisting with development, validation, and implementation of new clinical tests; equipment maintenance; quality improvements, and training of MLS students, staff, pathology residents, and clinical fellows.
