    Description
    Duties


    • Serve as a Cybersecurity Specialist in accordance with the Army Regulation (AR) 25-2,Information Management Army Cybersecurity and other statutory and regulatory requirements.
    • Acquire and manage the necessary resources to support information technology (IT) security goals and objectives and reduce overall organizational risk.
    • Advise senior management on risk levels and security posture.
    • Collect and maintain data needed to meet system cybersecurity reporting.
    • Communicate the value of information technology (IT) security throughout all levels of the organization stakeholders.
    • Evaluates and approve development efforts to ensure that baseline security safeguards are appropriately installed.
    • Participate in the development or modification of the computer environment cybersecurity program plans and requirements.
    • Develop and apply IA and cybersecurity requirements for adequacy and effectiveness of security measures, continuity of operations, and protection of systems and system content.
    • Provides updates and reports to management, as needed, for cybersecurity concerns on assigned systems
    Requirements Conditions of Employment


    • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
    • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
    A background investigation and credit check are required.


    • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 10% of the time.
    • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position
    Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.


    • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirement.
    • This position requires Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level III certification or the incumbent must be able to obtain certification within six (6) months of appointment in accordance with DoDD 8140.
    • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion

    Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: convincingly conveying complex information to customers; presenting thoughts that are well-organized and demonstrating confidence in the facts and ideas; adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding; using various methods to explain and convey information; and 4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations

    Specialized experience is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (NH-02/GS-11) in the Federal service which includes: 1) Implementing Risk Management Framework requirements for Federal Information Systems; 2) Evaluating IT Systems (e.

    hardware design, operating systems, and software applications) to ensure they meet cybersecurity requirements; 3) Conducting vulnerability/risk assessments; 4) Enhancing information security controls to support cybersecurity requirements
    Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify
