    Job Description:

    The Construction Manager/Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful construction and start-up of a new manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction management and project engineering, with experience in monitoring field work, coordinating testing and start-up activities, and overseeing construction activities on-site. Additionally, some experience or familiarity with IT infrastructure is preferred.

    Responsibilities:

    • Field Work Monitoring: Monitor field work activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
    • Testing and Start-Up Coordination: Coordinate testing and start-up activities, working closely with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition from construction to operational phases.
    • Construction Oversight: Serve as the owner's representative in the field, overseeing and monitoring all construction activities to ensure adherence to project requirements.
    • Collaboration with BE&K: Work collaboratively with BE&K, the construction contractor, on various aspects including work planning, installation monitoring, red line verification, safety monitoring, quality checks, and start-up planning and execution.
    • Installation Monitoring: Monitor installation activities in the field, ensuring that all equipment and systems are installed correctly and according to specifications.
    • Design and Engineering Support: Work with BE&K and engineers on design, specification, RFIs (Requests for Information), earned value analysis, quality assurance, and start-up activities.
    • IT Infrastructure Experience: Apply knowledge of IT infrastructure to relevant project tasks, providing insight and support as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
    • Proven experience in construction management and project engineering, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
    • Familiarity with IT infrastructure is preferred.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
