    JOB SUMMARY:
    To ensure an accurate and efficient accounting of Cityscape funds through prudent fund accounting and internal monitoring of funds


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Process and Manage Accounts Payable and DepartmentProcess and Manage Accounts Receivable and DepartmentActively participate in and/or provide support for inter-departmental teams to help improve student performance, to improve internal operations, and to meet the established goals and objectives for Cityscape Schools.

    Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and maintain financial records according to governmental accounting principles and Cityscape procedures.

    Compute and prepare data for journal entries.
    Maintain/distribute/reconcile credit card information.
    Reconcile all non-cash, cash, and accounts payable accounts.
    Set up and maintain account controls, logs, and files.
    Perform cost accounting activities and bank reconciliation.
    Develop, implement, and maintain fixed asset procedures.
    Review and verify accuracy of journal entries, accounting methods, and procedures.
    Oversee month-end close.
    Oversee year-end close.
    Oversee yearly financial audit.
    Develop and present training material.

    Cross train with the Business Office teamDevelop and maintain procedures for this position and department; review other procedures for accuracy.

    Monitor and Manage use of federal and grant funds including preparing and submitting grant drawdowns.
    Prepare budget projections, budget analysis and recommended revisions in required budget categories.
    Prepare and maintain required program reports, budget briefs and other fiscal records by established deadlines.
    Provide technical assistance to ensure federal/SCE program compliance.
    Monitor implementation, preparation, submission, comparability reports, ESSA Application, allocation models.
    Special projects as they arise.
    Other duties as assigned.


    KNOWLEDGE,SKILLSAND ABILITIES :

    Knowledge of governmental accounting and auditing principles established by the Governmental Accounting System Board (GASB) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Practices (GAAP)Knowledge of computerized accounting systems.

    Use Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Financial systems and web-based data management systems and banking software packages.
    Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, evaluate accounting problems, develop data, and recommend improved procedures.
    Ability to develop complex accounting reports, spreadsheets, and databases.
    Effective skills in organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    Ability to take initiative and solve problems.
    Knowledge of general and special revenue funds.

    Ability to communicate effectively with tact and diplomacy and provide a high level of customer service to administrators, School officials and employees, co-workers, vendors, and outside organizations.

    Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.
    Ability to be detail oriented with excellent proofing skills.
    Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

    Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and execute work effectively, using independent judgment to provide overall direction for reaching organizational goals.

    QUALIFICATIONS :
    Bachelors degree required with a major in accounting or finance required.
    At least five years prior accounting at a high level of responsibility.
    Prior experience working in a school district in finance preferred.
    Prior experience working with Skyward Financial Management preferred.
    TASBO certification preferred.
    Valid Texas drivers license.


    WORKING CONDITIONS :

    Frequent walking, standing, bending/stooping, reaching, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse and technology hardware; frequent reaching; occasionally work irregular hours and prolonged hours.

    The employee is continually hearing and speaking to exchange information.
