    Description

    Responsibilities

    Oversee all aspects of manufacturing from engagement of vendors, onboarding, delivery of tech pack, and program set-up for production, including LRIP through to mass scale production

    Coordinate with design and innovation teams to optimize designs for manufacturability

    Engage directly with vendors to ensure accurate delivery of parts that fulfill company and customer criteria, including implementation of lot traceability and other quality measures

    Work with vendors to identify ongoing methods to improve quality and efficiencies

    Implement metrics to measure vendor performance and effectiveness scorecard, providing vendors with frequent actionable feedback, and keeping vendors to account on required improvements

    Interface with cross-functional team, plan project execution, allocate resources, and ensure project goals are met

    Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, objectives, and success criteria

    Drive innovation where possible by introducing new technologies, materials and methodologies to improve product production, design and enhance product capabilities and performance

    Perform advanced engineering analyses, develop and validate complex models, and provide technical expertise for production both for internal and external teams

    Ensure designs meet high standards of quality, reliability, and compliance with industry regulations

    Manage project budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize production processes

    Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, R&D, and sales, to ensure seamless product development and delivery

    Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, presenting technical information and progress updates

    Act as primary point of contact for vendors

    Stay informed about relevant industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements, ensuring products meet all necessary criteria

    Complete other projects and special assignments as assigned

    Qualifications

    Bachelor or masters degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or in a related field required; consideration given for relevant experience

    Proven track record of success in design, development, and production of ballistic systems or similar complex engineering projects

    Experience with relevant software tools for design, analysis, and simulation

    10+ years of experience in engineering or a related field
