- Performance Management: Provides advice and counsel on complex performance management issues. Partners with the colleague, manager and other business leaders to address performance gaps and facilitates discussions/ process to assess appropriate action. Provides coaching to managers on all aspects of performance including delivering feedback effectively and improving performance.
- Employee Relations: Conducts internal investigations independently and brings to closure following appropriate protocol. Effectively investigates and implements resolutions on workplace issues to minimize risk to the organization. Collaborates with HR Business Partners, General Counsel or other internal parties as needed on situations that have potential for broad exposure.
- Policy/ Procedure/ Employment Practices and Laws: Responds to complex questions about HR policy/process. Supports managers in applying HR policies to high-risk situations; ensures HR Business Partners are involved as needed, so appropriate visibility is achieved.
- Talent Management: Serves as a resource on competencies and development tools for managers and colleagues. May facilitate corporate and segment specific courses for colleague/manager development. May be responsible for elements of on-boarding and exit processes.
- Rewards: Consult with managers and leaders on base pay, bonus, equity and recognition programs for individuals and teams. Assists managers in utilizing rewards programs to motivate and recognize teams for their contribution.
- Bachelor's degree required
- US: PHR Certification desired
- Canada: CHRP Certification desired
- 3+ years' experience coaching and advising employees at all levels on HR policy and processes
- Knowledgeable on employment laws and HR trends
- Strong consulting skills working with a broad client base at various experience levels
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- HR process improvement project experience
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Highly motivated and self-directed
- Can maintain confidentiality of sensitive data
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in time-sensitive situations
- Occasional travel may be required
- Ability to work effectively in a virtual environment

Overview
The HR Senior Specialist is a mid-level professional position within Human Resources. The HR Senior Specialist consults on solutions and strategies to resolve issues on a variety of people and HR process related topics. They also assume lead responsibility for investigations, represents the Operations perspective on global project teams and may serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the team.
Responsibility Areas
HR Consultant to Colleagues and Managers. HR Senior Specialists have a variety of interactions with managers and colleagues including responding to queries and issues related to HR policies and processes. The HR Senior Specialist operates independently to organize priorities and resolve issues. They interact with HR Business Partners, Legal, Compliance and other interdependent functions to determine appropriate course of action and bring queries and issues to closure. Core areas of consulting include:
HR Program Effectiveness/ Project Participant
Provides input and feedback to HR Management on opportunities for improvement in HR delivery. Represents Operations in projects to develop/ refine HR programs as assigned by manager. Leads projects as an HR Subject Matter Expert; influences policy/ program direction.
