- Financial Strategy Development: Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's solar project development goals.
- Project Financing: Lead the identification, negotiation, and structuring of project financing solutions, including debt, tax equity, and other financial instruments, to optimize capital structure and enhance project profitability.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate project economics, including cash flow projections, return on investment (ROI) analysis, and sensitivity analysis.
- Tax Equity Structuring: Drive the structuring and execution of tax equity transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations and optimizing tax benefits for the company and investors.
- Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A): Lead financial due diligence and analysis for potential M&A opportunities, including evaluating target companies, conducting financial modeling, and supporting negotiations and deal structuring.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with solar project development, including market risks, regulatory risks, and project-specific risks.
- Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including lenders, investors, government agencies, and other external partners, to facilitate project financing and drive successful project outcomes.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to the project finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Proven track record of 7+ years of experience in project finance, with a focus on renewable energy projects, particularly solar.
- Deep understanding of tax equity structures and experience in structuring tax equity transactions for renewable energy projects.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, with advanced Excel skills and experience using financial modeling software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, MATLAB, or similar tools).
- Strong knowledge of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) principles and experience in supporting M&A transactions, including due diligence, financial analysis, and deal structuring.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on driving results and achieving financial objectives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of finance professionals.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment, working closely with project development, engineering, legal, and other teams to achieve project goals.
- CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional certifications.
- Experience working with renewable energy developers, EPC contractors, or financial institutions specializing in renewable energy finance.
