    JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIESAdministrative ResponsibilityProvides comprehensive support to the IOTOX initiative program, including efforts across the Divisions of Internal Medicine and Cancer Medicine in the clinical and education spaces.

    Knowledgeable in aspects of programmatic initiatives to be able to evaluate challenges that may impact the project as it relates to budget support.

    Leads programmatic meetings and monitors project progression, deliverables, project timelines and deliverables in conjunction with IOTOX leadership team.
    Coordination of departmental working groups and committees facilitating collaborations and future clinical, research and education projects.
    Provides oversight and monitor activities related to IOTOX clinical trial activities in the Division.
    Reviews of all documents (presentations, grant proposals, and reports) for internal and external IOTOX programs.
    Directs activities pertaining to development of workflows for clinical and education projects.
    Provides comprehensive support to the IOTOX Working Group and Committees, collaborating faculty and relevant external customers. Provide high level support for both internal and external meetings.

    Performs analytical reviews, complex account reviews, trend analysis, cost projections, with any potential problems as relates to the IOTOX Initiative.

    Compiles data and prepare IOTOX Initiative reports and slide presentations for Executive Committee, Working Group, Committee (Clinical and Education) and other meetings; internal stakeholders and collaborators; external academic or pharmaceutical collaborators.

    Develop the content and generate reports and correspondence for high level meetings and provide meeting minutes.
    Demonstrates technical proficiency required to do the job; possess up-to-date knowledge in the profession; provide technical expertise to others. Apply basic technical/functional knowledge to complete work.
    Management FunctionsProvides solutions to scientific challenges by making recommendations to establish consensus among IOTOX stakeholders.
    Monitors project intake with data governance team, develops timelines and supports prioritization of project tasks.
    Interprets results and outcomes to best represent progress in presentation and graphical formats.
    Develops, compiles, and writes reports utilizing complex data, and submits summaries and progress reports to IOTOX leadership.
    Facilitates the technologic management interface between IOTOX and MD Anderson Leaders and IT. Work with key IT and other key stakeholders to determine IOTOX Initiative technological needs.
    Presents solution design and cost benefit analysis to meet IOTOX financial and strategic needs.
    Develops communication and change management plans to support the successful implementation of projects and initiatives. Implement and follow through on departmental project deliverables.
    Develops and communicate key measures to track the IOTOX Initiative budgets, clinical productivity, and milestones.
    Strategic Planning and DevelopmentDevelops contingency plans to address project performance gaps and manage initiative stakeholder expectations.

    Refines and executes the vision, strategy and roadmap for the IOTOX Initiative in alignment with the key operations drivers of reliability, efficiency, agility and differentiation.

    Identifies critical IOTOX Initiative business issues. Develop an operations plan to prioritize and resolve these issues.

    Operations ManagementAbility to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts, practices and policies to support complex and/or unprecedented situations across multiple functional areas related to all internal and external IOTOX large-scale programs,Identifies gaps and determines resource justification/utilization for current and future projects to include equipment, personnel and space.

    Work closely with the IOTOX Initiative leaders while mentoring one or more staff members.

    Direct and coordinate program and administrative activities of a complex, interrelated and interdependent nature, where unknowns and numerous contingency factors are involved and obtain and analyze facts and solve problems while making administrative decisions.

    Directs all special projects to include human resources, compliance within the institution.
    Participates in IOTOX Initiative reporting and budget management requirements.
    Develops and maintains communications to support, enhance and expand awareness of the IOTOX Initiative.
    Fiscal ResponsibilityMakes recommendations concerning budgetary decisions as they affect the IOTOX clinical and education efforts.
    Ensures policies are in place for managing costs associated with the IOTOX initiative.


    EDCUATION:
    Bachelor's degree in science or medically related field, business or healthcare administration

    EXPERIENCE:

    Eight years experience in an academic research setting facilitating research program development and management of research resources to include two years of supervisory/management experience .

    With preferred degree, five years of required experience to include two years of supervisory/management experience.

    May substitute required degree with additional years of experience in research administration management at MDACC on a one to one basis.

    Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
