We are hiring two IT Operations Analysts at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The successful candidates will be punctual, dependable, communicative, and possess a positive attitude.

They should have the ability to learn quickly and retain information, consistently thinking ahead to the next step without being told.

(IT Operations Analyst) Job Details

As an IT Operations Analyst, your primary role will be to monitor, diagnose, and manage problems within our central network.

You will provide a central strategic/tactical coordination facility for customers throughout the University as needed.

Your goal will be to detect Network and Security problems before they impact the campus, and when necessary, limit their impact by taking immediate action.

You will use the Operations Center as a centralized source for coordination of incidents that impact the campus.

This position will facilitate coordination and communication during critical unplanned outages with the service providers, ITS Communications & Digital Services, and the office of the CIO.

You will also use proprietary software to disable compromised user accounts to prevent the spread of malware and spam.


(IT Operations Analyst) Mandatory Skills

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Infrastructure and Operations (I&O), particularly in managing Information Technology Services (ITS) data centers.

They should have the ability to provide around-the-clock support for ITS business computing activities and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

(IT Operations Analyst) Desired Skills

Candidates with excellent problem-solving and communication skills will be preferred. They should be team players and be easily accessible to all stakeholders. They should also be able to adapt to changing schedules and work hours.


(IT Operations Analyst) Start Date

The job will start on 5/6/24 and end on 9/6/24. The schedule is eight days on and six days off. The hours may change, but the days of the shift remain the same. The 1st shift is 7-4 M-F, and the 2nd or 3rd is rotating. Four 10 hour shifts and two 8's and one weekend of two 12's every two weeks.
