Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Tax, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of related experience
CPA preferred
1 to 2 years tax experience preferred
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee daily accounting activities in line with proper accounting principles (GAAP)
Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and produce financial reports or statements for clients
Full Charge Bookkeeper
for clients with over 3 million in revenue
Responsible for ensuring the month-end closing procedures are completed accurately and timely
Delegate, supervise and participate in department tasks and ensure compliance and accuracy
File quarterly and yearly payroll reports
Post payroll runs and accruals into the books and reconcile the accounts against the GL
File quarterly sales/use tax returns and calculate interim prepayments to the state
Supporting of year end, month end and audit processes with ability to use and create complex spreadsheets
Present account updates and trends and problem updates to manager
Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy to the GL
Monthly financial reviews with clients on their books
Review the work from the junior staff and approve journal entries as needed
Achieve weekly/daily/monthly/annual targets and goals as set by your manager
Develop plans for streamlining and improving accounting processes
Assist during tax season with entering information needed for tax managers
