    Employee Benefits Client Manager - Small Business


    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


    Provide service on assigned book(s) of business (or clients) by organizing internal resources and delegating work utilizing appropriate resources with direction from Client Executive (CE).

    Respond promptly and accurately to clients' service needs.
    Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and carriers.
    Maintain insurance knowledge and expertise.
    Customer Management/Service

    Responsibility or Duty:
    Provide client service in-house and in-the-field resolving claim, billing and late premium problems. This includes responsibility for system documentation and communication with the Client Executive or supervisor for direction on occasion.
    Meet with sales Client Executive on a regular basis to discuss workload, appointments and priorities.
    Processes new and renewal business, group proposal requests and system benefit changes.
    Review policies, amendments or quotes for accuracy.
    Process terminating policies and customers in the system.
    Occasionally compose and type general correspondence to clients and related interest.
    Assist with special requests as needed by clients. These duties may include collection and illustration of claims history, and researching special coverage questions.

    Meet with customers as requested regarding policy renewal, enrollments or other issues at the request and direction of the Client Executive.

    This may involve traveling to a customer's place of business.
    Order and process customer requests for policy changes, and perform any follow-up work.
    Prepare binders, and other related insurance documents required by customers.
    Assist in claims resolution in partnership with carriers and clients.
    Review and monitor daily follow-up activities.
    Marketing

    Responsibility or Duty:


    Work with Client Executive, other team members and carriers on new and renewal business and benefit changes; review policies to ensure proper issuance.

    Prepare request for proposals and related information to submit to carriers based on information provided by Client Executive or prospect.

    Client Executives are primarily responsible for gathering this data and choosing markets for these prospects.
    Prepare standard spreadsheets in accordance with deadlines relating to appointments and renewal dates for prospects and customers.

    Occasionally assist in preparing custom spreadsheets in accordance with deadlines relating to appointments and renewal dates for prospects and customers.

    Occasionally attend sales presentation appointments at the direction of the Client Executive.
    Assist with preparation and occasionally attend or conduct off-site group enrollments and group meetings. Assists the Client Executive, our carriers and the plan administrator in compiling the presentation materials that will be used.

    Assist in cross selling - Reminding Client Executive of opportunities for ancillary lines sales and referrals to P&C Division or other areas for individual or personal lines.

    Administrative Duties

    Responsibility or Duty:
    Organize and prioritize work-flow pertaining to assigned book of business.
    Review and utilize daily follow up activities in the agency management system.
    Schedule appointments at the direction of the sales Client Executive.
    Participate in meetings and the development of new procedures to help streamline workflow.
    Provide assistance necessary to help the Client Executive sell and retain business.
    Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Education

    Required

    High School or better.
    Preferred

    Bachelors or better.
    Experience

    Required

    Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based software applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
    Preferred

    Ability to work scheduled hours between office hours of 8am to 5pm Monday - Friday.
    Broad knowledge of insurance markets and reference to markets.
    Broad knowledge of insurance products and usages.
    Understanding of workflow procedures and sales and service processes.
    Is able to work accurately and effectively with agency automation system (EPIC.)

    Bachelor's degree or minimum of one year insurance agency or company experience specializing in employee benefits or a minimum of one year equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
