    Florida State University Panama City (FSU PC) offers Public Safety and Security (PSS) programs at both the bachelor's and master's degree levels as part of the FSU College of Applied Studies.

    These Public Safety and Security programs combine coursework, labs, and field work to provide students with skills necessary to start or advance careers in law enforcement and public safety.

    The FSU PC PSS programs are offered online and in-person, and they incorporate a breadth of course topics across the Public Safety field with emphases or majors in Crime Scene Investigation, Law Enforcement Operations, and Law Enforcement Intelligence.

    The Public Safety and Security Department also houses unique undergraduate and graduate certificate programs in Underwater Crime Scene Investigation and offers an online Master's degree program in Law Enforcement Intelligence.

    FSU PC currently houses 20 bachelor's programs, 9 master's programs, 1 doctoral program, and boasts a small faculty-to-student ratio, which gives students a more personalized academic experience.

    This position will be on-campus at FSU Panama City in Panama City, FL and will consist of both in-person and online instruction and program service responsibilities.

    Develop and teach in-person and online courses as assigned and based on qualifications for the undergraduate and graduate Public Safety and Security programs,


    • Engage in teaching innovations and oversight of student projects, and
    • This position has opportunities for engagement in additional research, though it is not a required component of this teaching faculty position.

    in Public Safety, Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a related field; from an accredited institution with additional expertise, graduate coursework, and qualifications for teaching courses in our programs.

    We especially seek candidates who have a minimum of two years of experience teaching at the university level (in-person and/or online).

    Strong preference will be provided to candidates who can teach a combination of undergraduate-level courses in the Public Safety programs (emphasizing Crime Scene Investigation and Law Enforcement Operations) and graduate courses, depending on qualifications and experience.

    This position is being advertised as a 9- or 12-month, full-time, specialized teaching faculty position with opportunities for promotion and multi-year contracts.

    Additional leadership and administrative opportunities are possible if qualifications allow. Engagement in research is possible, though research is not a required component of the teaching faculty position.
