    ALS Recruiting are recruiting for a Global Forwarder based in Houston who is looking for a Director of Supply Chain to manage one of their biggest customers in the TXS area which will be covering 3 sites and having stakeholder management as a key responsibility.


    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
    the strategic and commercial relationship with the on-site Customer.
    the P&L.
    plan and set direction for the logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services in conjunction with the leadership teams.
    long-term supply chain strategies, aligning with company goals, and leading transformational initiatives.
    relationships with departments such as procurement, sales, and finance to create an integrated approach to supply chain management.
    the supply chain, handling and optimizing the international logistics, including the import and export regulations.

    expertise in enterprise resource planning (ERP), information technology (IT) systems and AI, relevant to supply chain operations to ensure optimal running of supply chain.

    use data to forecast trends, assess performance, and make informed decisions, reporting regularly to Senior leadership supported by data.
    drive optimization of the supply chain process to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
    potential supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans.
    and guide teams towards achieving supply chain objectives that are aligned with global business goals.
    source and secure the best suppliers and negotiate cost effective contracts in conjunction with procurement team.
    logistics, inventory management, and demand forecasting.
    process improvements and technological innovations to enhance efficiency.
    the optimization of warehouse operations using lean methodologies.
    cost-reduction initiatives without compromising product quality.
    the commercial growth of the supply chain in Houston.
    and promote a safe and secure workplace.
    and drives achievement of Service Level Agreements (SLA's), reporting on same and addressing non-conformance.
    deliver on set and agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
    the flow of information and communication both horizontally and vertically.
    the supply chain and its people in line with Company policies and procedures.
    quality audits and ensure compliance with quality standards.
    key strategic decisions, originate action and be responsible for the consequences of the decisions made.

    SKILLS, COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
    working experience as a Supply Chain Director.
    of 10 years' experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
    in global supply chain management and international trade regulations.
    in supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and ERP systems.
    analytical skills, with a track record of improving supply chain processes.
    Microsoft Office proficiency – strong ability to present data using excel and PowerPoint.
    in strategic sourcing and vendor management.
    communication and leadership abilities.
    degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
    in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM).
    in digital transformation projects within supply chain contexts.
    of sustainability practices in supply chain operations.
    capabilities for international communication – preferable.
    to present sound and well-reasoned arguments to convince others.
    and works effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups.
    have a collaborative and team player approach.

    able to understand and appreciate different and opposing perspectives on an issue, to adapt an approach as the requirements of a situation change, and to change or easily accept changes within the organization or job requirements.
