    Opportunity

    The role is responsible for modeling complex problems,discovering insights, and identifying opportunities through the use ofstatistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques. This individualintegrates and prepares large, varied datasets, architecting specializeddatabases and computing environments. They work closely with stakeholders, datastewards, project/program managers, and other IT teams to turn data intocritical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound organizationaldecisions.

  • Partners with cross functional teams, particularly stakeholders, to gather business requirements and expected outcomes. Leads the gathering, integration, and retention of data based upon input.
  • Designs experiments, tests hypotheses, and builds models. Models and frames business scenarios that are meaningful and which impact on critical business processes and/or decisions. Conducts advanced data analysis and complex designs algorithm.
  • Identifies what data is available and relevant, including internal and external data sources.
    Works on iterative processes with the client and validates findings. Develops experimental design approaches to validate finding or test hypotheses. Validates analysis by comparing appropriate samples.
  • Employs the appropriate algorithms to discover patterns. Identifies and analyzes patterns in the volume, type, speed, or sudden variations in data collection.
  • Presents and depicts the rationale of their findings in easy to understand terms for the business.
  • Helps the organization understand the principles and the math behind the process to drive organizational buy-in.
  • Collaborates with the data steward to ensure that the information used follows the compliance, access management, and control policies. Works together to define the data quality expectation in the context of the specific use case.
  • Educates the organization both from IT and the business perspectives on new approaches, such as testing hypotheses and statistical validation of results.
  • Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, or computer science required, with a preference towards a master's degree.
  • 5+ years of relevant quantitative and qualitative research and analytics experience, with a solid understanding of statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms.
  • Proficiency in the use of statistical packages, statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization algorithms.
