    Surgery Scheduler Highlights

    • The pay for this position is $20–$23 per hour , based on experience
    • Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
    • 100% Onsite position
    • This position is a Temporary (3-month assignment), potential for extension Responsibilities
    • Schedule patient appointments, tests, and surgical procedures in an efficient and timely manner
    • Answer incoming calls, assess caller needs, and route calls or page clinic personnel appropriately
    • Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, and medical staff
    • Schedule new, referred, and returning patients in the scheduling system according to physician and office guidelines
    • Enter patient demographics, documentation, and appropriate coding into the system
    • Cancel and reschedule appointments and notify appropriate clinic personnel
    • Obtain and enter insurance authorizations and referral documentation into patient charts and/or EMR
    • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket payments at time of visit
    • Maintain physician scheduling templates, including meetings, satellite schedules, rounding, and call coverage
    • Schedule outpatient testing, surgeries, hospital admissions, and post-operative follow-up appointments as needed
    • Communicate surgical and testing instructions and preparation requirements to patients
    • Follow up on pre-operative testing to ensure surgical clearance and communicate with physicians and patients as needed
    • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to compliance, ethics, and business standards
    • Support front office operations and provide coverage xhuatnn for other duties as requested Requirements
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • 1–3 years of surgery scheduling experience required
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and coding preferred
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Benefits Available
