Junior Credit Analyst

Maspeth Federal Savings – Maspeth, NY

Job Description

It is the responsibility of the person in this position to process and complete credit analysis on each mortgage application.

Reports To

• Credit Manager

Primary Responsibilities

• Review and Process Mortgage Applications
• Prepare Single-Asset-Entity (SAE) Mortgage Loans for Loan Committee
• Identify and Review Personal/Business Tax Returns, bank statements, credit reports, etc.
• Prepare daily loan pipeline reports
• Interact with applicants/brokers/attorneys in person, through e-mail and over the phone.
• Review SAE file and request any required additional information
• Input information into the Association's origination system.
• Correlate and compile the information provided and present the analysis for approval in a timely manner with a deadline in mind.
• Assist in preparing loan files for Bank Attorneys
• Assist in quarterly HMDA (Home Mortgage Disclosure Act) review
• Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills & Experience

• 1-2 years experience in Credit Underwriting
• Associate's degree in finance (or related field) or equivalent years of relevant work experience
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Detail oriented / Highly Organized / Multitask
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage relationships both internally and externally
• Must be able to adhere to deadlines in a timely manner
• Must follow procedures and have ability to adapt to ever-changing environment of Credit Underwriting
