We are looking for a technical, execution-minded leader for the Data Governance team. The

Manager, Data Engineering,

is responsible for

leading our team of data engineers. This team is primarily responsible for creating &

maintaining

data governance products to improve the reliability and consistency of our data by enforcing data governance policies across the data platform at Apex.

Data governance includes monitoring and oversight into data quality, field naming/description standards, sensitive data access, and other data integrity issues.

You will report to the Director of Engineering of the Manila office and work closely with the

Director

, Data Engineering responsible for this initiative, and work alongside product managers, business stakeholders and engineering teams across the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for delivery and maintenance of data governance products and services.
Manage the design, development, and deployment of cloud data platform related products/services.
Work and communicate with stakeholders across Apex to

identify

key business problems and opportunities.
Hire, develop, and lead a collaborative and high-performing team.
Collaborate with product team in definition and execution of the product roadmap for Apex's Data Platform in alignment with the company's overall strategy and objectives

.

Define and track key metrics to measure the success of the Data Governance products/services, including quality, usage, adoption, and user satisfaction.

Foster an environment of continuous learning and development within the team.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years building data engineering solutions in Cloud
5+ Python and SQL experience
3+ years managing people in digital or technology-focused companies
Experience managing teams developing and launching data products using cloud technologies (GCP, AWS, Azure)
Proven

track record

of leading functional groups, defining, documenting, delivering, and measuring value
Knowledge of data model design and architecture preferred

Required Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrate ability to achieve strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment with uncertain variables.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with Agile methods and SaaS deployments
