    Summary


    Position Description:
    This position will perform truck repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory and industry standards, diagnostics on vehicles, and work closely with other team members to meet company goals


    Responsibilities:

    • Performs preventive repairs such as replacing or rotating tires, completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on diesel engine vehicles.
    • Assists experienced maintenance techs with repairs
    • Partners with manager to learn new skills and hands-on coaching
    • Records maintenance for DOT requirements
    • Operate company equipment safely and accurately

    Position Description:

    • Operate company equipment safely and accurately

    Requirements:

    • Communicates effectively both oral and written
    • Knowledge of Federal DOT Guidelines
    • Proficient in basic computer skills
    • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position (Lifting up to 100+ lbs., bending, climbing, standing for duration of shift, etc.)
    • Drivers license is required, CDL preferred
    • Must be able to pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
    • Certification/ training in diesel repair from vocational tech school or community college
    • 1+ years Preventive Maintenance (PM) on heavy duty tractor trailers
    • Completion of an apprenticeship with and experienced diesel mechanic
    • Completion of or willingness to complete on the job training program

    Work Environment:


    The nature of the working environment is one which the employee may come encounter outside weather conditions, vibration, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or heat, and excessive noise levels.
