    Job Type Full-timeDescriptionPosition Summary Provides a variety of high-quality customer service and clerical support.

    Uses specific knowledge of medical procedures, insurance processes, data management and medical records to organize and complete medical office tasks.

    Greets patients, answers phones, schedules appointments and verifies insurance as needed. May provide billing and collection services. Provides assistance and backup support to various departments. Experience in PET/CT Scheduling is a plus.

    Complies with HIPAA, CPI, Red Flag and all other legal requirements related to medical environments and information.
    Communicates effectively and courteously with all contacts - internal and external.

    Core Job Duties:
    Greets and checks in patients for appropriate modality appointments.
    Completes documentation for all patients. Assists patients with completion of forms.
    Answers incoming phone calls, routing calls to appropriate person and takes messages.
    Authorizes and scans all patient information into Meditech computer system.
    Prepares patient charts for appropriate modality.
    Orders supplies for the office.
    Schedules patient appointments and obtains all information needed from patient prior to exam.
    Prepares oral contrast media and walks patients to the dressing room.
    Prepare Medical Records / CD for Subpoenas.
    Performs other duties as assigned.
    Provides exceptional customer service.
    Familiar with Insurances and collects patient payments.
    Registers patients at the front desk when needed.


    Other Duties:

    • Attends meetings and/or training seminars as requested.
    • Other duties as assigned

    RequirementsShift:
    Must be available to work Mon-Fri, occasional weekends.
    Educational Requirements High school diploma required.
    One to three years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Strong working knowledge of medical terminology.


    Computer and Equipment Used:

    Has good general knowledge of computer operations; uses a keyboard and calculator proficiently and with a high degree of accuracy.

    Uses Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, e-mail, Meditech, PACS, Epic, Synapse, RIS programs proficiently.
    Uses typical office equipment (i.e., ten-key by touch, fax machine, scanner, copier, multi- phone lines)

    Mental and Reasoning Requirements:
    Uses critical thinking skills to interpret information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Able to set daily and weekly goals based on available information and to plan work in order to meet schedules.

    Able to formulate appropriate responses to requests for services and information from patients, supervisors and coworkers.
    Able to project likely future occurrences based on current or historic data.


    Physical Requirements:
    Sits for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk. Stands and walks throughout the day.
    Uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours or more each day.
    Requires clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses.

    Hearing and speech within normal ranges and sufficient for clear communication face to face and on the telephoneLifts up to 40 pounds occasionally.

    Exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.
    Potentially exposed to infectious agents (patients with flu, colds, etc.)

    Additional Skills:
    Familiar with diagnostic radiology proceduresFamiliar with scheduling PET/CT is a plus. Salary Description $20-$30 Per Hour
