Senior Project EngineerLeadership Opportunity in Capital Project Delivery | Relocation Provided
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead major capital projects from concept through completion.
In this role, you will manage planning, design, budgeting, installation, and contractor oversight for a wide range of engineering initiatives that support safe, efficient, and modern operations.
This position is ideal for a hands‑on engineering professional who enjoys driving projects forward, partnering with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
What You'll Do
Project Leadership
Oversee capital projects from initial scope development through final closeout.
Lead planning, scheduling, budgeting, and design activities to ensure projects stay on track and within budget.
Serve as the project manager for both planned and unplanned initiatives.
Prepare scope documents, cost estimates, and timelines for multiple projects simultaneously.
Regularly report project status, risks, opportunities, and budget updates to the Director of Engineering.
Execution & Oversight
Manage contractors, vendors, and consultants to achieve high standards of quality, safety, and performance.
Make on-site visits to coordinate work, monitor progress, and resolve issues.
Ensure all project work complies with federal, state, local, industry, and company requirements.
Utilize approved consulting engineers for stamped drawings and technical documentation.
Keep internal partners informed of schedule changes and ensure project expectations are met.
Financial & Technical Management
Develop and maintain project budgets and job cost tracking.
Conduct cost analysis and evaluate expected expenditures throughout each project phase.
Identify and implement engineering solutions that support sustainability and long-term operational efficiency.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with internal customers to understand needs and translate them into technical requirements.
Build strong working relationships with facility leaders, contractors, vendors, and consultants.
Communicate project updates clearly and professionally to all stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
10 years of relevant experience may be considered instead of a degree.
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in engineering, construction, or related fields.
Skills & Abilities
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, BIM, and Navisworks.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Demonstrated leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and drive results with minimal oversight.
Safety Requirements
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Wear required protective equipment in designated areas.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Willingness to travel weekly as required.
Ability to work weekends and holidays when project demands require it.
Ability to work in a variety of environments, including cold, humid, dry, and dusty conditions.
Supervisor Responsibility
None. This is an individual contributor role with expected strengths in technical expertise, problem-solving, adaptability, and collaboration.
