    POSITION DUTIES

    This is an important position in the Board's Compliance Unit. The Health Occupations\r
    Investigator (HOI) will assist the Pharmacist Investigator Supervisor and the Compliance\r
    Director in the investigation of alleged misconduct of pharmacy businesses and\r
    pharmacy professionals. The HOI will perform investigations\r
    of complaints received by the Board regarding the operation of pharmacies and the\r
    performance of licensed and/or registered personnel. Under the supervision of the\r
    Pharmacist Investigator Supervisor, the Health Occupations Investigator will be\r
    responsible for the following: gathering information from complainants, witnesses, and\r
    respondents, conducting on-site investigations, summarizing complaints received by the\r
    Board and obtaining information/evidence needed in the investigation, obtaining signed\r
    statements when warranted, preparing subpoenas for obtaining physical and\r
    documentary evidence, working with Board members, Board Counsel, the Executive\r
    Director, Pharmacist Investigator Supervisor, and Compliance Director in developing\r
    cases, and performing technical tasks.\r

    This position is eligible for hybrid telework (40% = 2 days weekly) which is subject to approval from the supervisor.\r

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience:�Six years of experience conducting criminal investigations, including the preparation of analyses and reports for use in legal proceedings.\r

    1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree in the field of criminal justice, criminology, law enforcement or an allied health field (such as nursing, pharmacy, psychology, social work, nutrition, dietetics, speech pathology, audiology) from an accredited college or university and two years of experience conducting criminal investigations, including the preparation of analyses and reports for use in legal proceedings for the required experience.�\r

    2.�Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service�experience as a commissioned officer in�Investigator, Police�and�Intelligence�Specialist�classifications or Investigator, Police and�Intelligence�specialty codes in the criminal�investigation field of work on a year-for-year basis for the�required experience.\r

    Experience working with the public\r
    Experience with the investigative process from beginning to end\r
    Experience analyzing case content and identifying elements of the case requiring additional focus\r

    LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

    Employees in this�classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

    Employees in this classification may be required to have daily use of a motor vehicle while on official State business. Standard mileage allowance will be paid for use of a privately owned vehicle.\r
