    The Interconnection Engineer is responsible for managing PV, Wind and Energy Storage projects through the utility interconnection process as well as providing technical expertise in the interconnection of renewable energy projects.

    Under guidance of Developer and Construction Engineer provides management of environmental related activities to achieve environmental impact assessment decision.

    Cooperates with Developer and Construction Engineers to provide administration support during the renewable energy project cycle.

    Key accountabilities

    • Manage the interconnection application process and HV scope for utility scale PV , Wind and Storage projects, identify reliability and congestion constraints for jurisdictional projects and develop integrated solutions
    • Review and analyse utility pre-screen reports, System Impact Studies, and Interconnection Service Agreements, and manage a portfolio of utility interconnection applications from initial submission through closeout
    • Analyse interconnection due diligence materials to support project acquisition efforts, identify existing and potential red flags
    • Develop single line diagrams and three-line diagrams for distribution-level and transmission-level Interconnection Applications, electrical permits, and construction documents
    • Maintain utility relationships, and manage utility performance to tariff deadlines
    • Review utility impact studies and upgrade estimates to identify cost or time saving measures
    • Manage external consultants performing interconnection and transmission studies as well as curtailment and congestion analyses
    • Lead technical utility negotiations and drive implementation of non-wires alternatives, selective curtailment, and other grid-edge technologies
    • Develop and manage relationships with a network of vendors and engineering consultants for the entire life cycle of a project including development, permitting, construction, and asset management phases
    • Interface with internal business development and engineering teams to coordinate project workflow
    • Review shop drawings and designs for switchgear, transformers, reclosers and other major electrical equipment
    • Perform site visits for project assessment and feasibility
    • Performs spatial analyzes in GIS software for the development of renewable energy projects in accordance with the guidelines (in particular location assessment, determination of available areas, calculation of potential power);
    • Creates maps and other materials based on spatial data (including tables, charts, presentations);
    • Prepares applications for administrative permits in accordance with provisions of US law (right to the property, environmental decision, zoning decision, conditions to connect to electrical grid, building permit and other decisions or consents required for project construction);
    • Supports construction stage of the project by providing expertise on administrative process and permits received;
    • Develops and manages detailed project schedule and work plan;
    • Coordinates works regarding environmental impact assessment and cooperation with contractors;
    • Provides administrative support in phase of development and construction of renewable energy for Wind Farms and Solar Farms: designing, bid procedures, negotiations, exploitation and settlement of investment;
    • Maintains internal tracking tool containing project schedule, project steps, budget, payments and charges;
    • Prepares drafts of documents in grid connection and investment processes: applications, correspondence, contracts, etc.

    Qualifications

    • Master Degree - Preferred fields: Technical , Electrical Engineer, Special Planning, Environmental Protection and similar Faculties
    • Degree in Administration
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in (Energy projects) – preferred in Renewable Energy projects Wind/PV/Storage (Utility scale)construction.
    • Experience from Site construction Works (Energy Projects)
    • Experience in leading an engineering/Construction Project Management team.
    • Experience in working with AutoCAD, MS Office.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Good English language skills (written/Spoken).
    • GIS software knowledge will be an asset.
    • Good understanding of green energy business.
