- Maintain current, detailed knowledge and understanding of unit equipment and unit operations.
- To take full responsibility of the shift(s) by supervising daily operations to ensure Production Operators/Shift Leads are performing the assigned responsibilities.
- Ensure the Standard Operating Procedures and Processes are being utilized to safely meet product quality specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of appropriate production paperwork (batch sheets, movement log, LOTO, safe work permits, scrubber logs, pump PM's, safety checklist)
- Review and audit Near Miss Reports.
- Update and maintain Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) records and documentation.
- Makes regular rounds of the facility to ensure proper operations and correct unsafe acts or practices.
- Maintain familiarity of safe handling, regulatory compliance, and emergency response for products in responsible production area.
- Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures and participate in plant safety processes.
- Maintain and enforce good housekeeping and keep the plant free from debris, spills, and waste.
- Train, mentor and motivate Production Operators.
- Complete a shift change report and work closely with other shift supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective communication tools.
- Maintain timekeeping for direct reports.
- Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited university.
- Alkoxylation experience, preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of chemistry, a plus
- 3-5 years of prior supervision experience in a chemical/industrial environment, required.
- Good communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task.
- Must be able to work in a team environment as well as function independently.
- Must be willing to be available day or night and work overtime as business needs require.
- Must be able to work in an outdoor environment and in inclement weather.
- Must be able to climb up and down stairs, tanks, railcars, tank trucks and ladders.
