    Day-to-day operations: warehouse environment, will come in to work and have a list of requisitions to pick; will pick supplies, load cart, and deliver to units within the hospital.

    At the end of the shift, will help with picking and wrapping pallets for next-day outbound shipping.

    They are allowed to have one earbud in to listen to music while in the warehouse but must remove that when leaving the warehouse to deliver supplies.

    Will be using a boxcutter, should have good knife skills
    Detail-oriented
    Physically demanding, lots of lifting and moving (sometimes over 50 pounds)


    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    Under the limited supervision of the Distribution Supervisor and Materials Manager, following established guidelines to coordinate the materials and equipment activities for the assigned locations.

    Works independently and directly with hospital staff daily around supply request. Responsible for the pulling of delivery of supplies to various departments within the hospital and offsite locations. Responsible for the replenishment of assigned par locations.

    The position is also responsible for the placement of the distribution centers replenishment order along with the accurate receiving of deliveries.

    Position may also help in other functions of the Distribution Center when needed. This position has no direct patient care responsibilities. Position requires Weekend and/or Holiday Rotations.


    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Responsible for timely and accurate selection of supply chain orders.
    Responsible for accurate receiving of deliveries (i.e. UPS, FedEx, Common Carrier, etc.). Ensures packages have the correct documentation and correct delivery location. Maintains documentation/delivery files.

    This includes not only the accuracy of the items being signed for it also includes the accuracy of the items being received in the MMIS system.

    Delivers products to hospital departments (both on-site and offsite). Ensures delivery documentation is signed by the end-user department for all deliveries.

    Assists in maintaining the location inventory, monitoring for expired products, keeping assigned areas organized and clean, and entering replenishment orders as needed.

    Processes returns and credits as required under the supervisor of the Distribution Supervisor
    Ensures all supply requisitions are confirmed within the MMIS system and coordinates with Supervisor on any deviations.
    Prepares outgoing packages for shipment on a daily bases.

    Affixes property record (asset) tags to Capital Equipment upon receipt, communicates all need information to purchasing around the asset (i.e.

    item description, PO #, asset tag number, serial number, etc.)
    Performs daily par cart inventories to establish re-order levels of assigned locations using the MMIS system. Performs requisition entry of supply quantities needed to replenish par levels. Pulls supplies from the replenishment locations and restocks locations from those pulled supplies.

    Trend utilization of distribution center and assigned par carts by rotating inventory as received to eliminate possible outdating of sterile supplies.

    Works with Supervisor around suggesting par additions and deletions as dictated by usage. Monitors and handles supply outages. Works with Management to reduce supply expenses based on utilization trends.
    Responsible for the aesthetics and cleanliness of the Clean Holding storage areas for assigned floors along with Distribution Center.
    Promptly responds to all requests in timely, courteous, and friendly manner.

    Supports and participates in the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of services that are provided by Materials Management.

    Performs other related duties as requested by authorized personnel.

    Required to respond to emergency situations (i.e., disasters, hurricanes, etc.) by reporting to department and staying until the crisis is over or position is covered by incoming personnel.

    This is a mandatory requirement. Refusal to respond may result in termination.


    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
    Basic computer knowledge or typing skills required. Knowledge of general office equipment such as fax machines, copy machines and printers.
    Experience with materials handling equipment (hand trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) preferred. Ability to read and write. Must have a demonstrated polite, articulate communication style and good listening skills.


    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
    inventory and supply distribution management course preferred.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    High School diploma or equivalent required.

    One or Two years of inventory systems, warehousing and/or supply distribution experience required.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
    Two years' experience in Customer Service preferred
    Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
    Experience with computerized Materials Management Systems preferred.
