    Job Description Director of Professional Development & Education

    PURPOSE The Director of Professional Development & Education will be responsible for strategizing, developing, planning, design, development, implementation and evaluation of the professional development and education programs the association offers members and the industry.

    # Provide program support for volunteer learning programs, collaborating across departments and with staff liaisons to deliver value-focused, responsive resources to enhance the volunteer experience.

    # Lead the planning and execution of the educational efforts at the annual SEMA Show.
    # Identify, recruit and contract with educational speakers to assist with the association's educational programs.
    # Serve as staff lead in overseeing strategic tradeshow partnerships with SCRS, TIA, and ICAR for purposes of extending and offering additional professional development to SEMA audiences.
    # In partnership with the association's internal stakeholders and support teams, ensure a high-quality presence and execution of education-related goals at the tradeshows.

    # Establish the Education Department as a trusted internal resource to support the association's programs and services in education and training delivery.
    # When directed by management, perform other assignments and duties as required.

    Supervises department's Senior Manager of Professional Development
    # Interfaces with all levels of staff as well as with Association members, industry representatives, councils and networks, and vendors providing educational information.

    A bachelor's degree in education or 3 years equivalent related experience in professional development, association management or member engagement.
    # Excellent oral and written communication skills with time-management awareness.
    # Ability to abandon what is not working and test ideas and concepts through innovation, beta testing and curiosity.

    # Delivery models for in-persona and virtual professional development and training
    # Scholarship administration

    # Knowledge of Macintosh or PC based computer systems and software.
