What to Expect:
Handle complex accounting procedures for department-specific and countywide financial activities to ensure financial system integrity.

Perform professional accounting and financial management tasks in a complex environment
Offer professional advice within established accounting principles, theories, and practices
Maintain consistent accounting practices in county financial systems as per established policies
Assist in financial statement preparation, journal entries, and general ledger account reconciliation
Review and audit County accounting systems, identify areas of improvement, and provide solutions
Support County departments in budget preparation and variance analysis, including grant monitoring
Provide application support, financial analysis, and cost analysis as needed
Assist with payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting to state agencies
Present financial information to stakeholders and perform any other assigned duties

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
2+ years of accounting experience with emphasis on cost and financial analysis
Knowledge of governmental accounting preferred
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in MS Office applications, Excel, and word processing software
Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and comply with regulations
Strong analytical skills, adaptability to change, and quick learning ability

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work in a standard office setting, lift up to 20 pounds, and operate office equipment
