Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist who is proficient in blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques from patients of all age groups.
A strong understanding of compliance and safety is essential, along with the ability to effectively communicate their importance to other employees.
The role also involves providing orientation and training for patient services.Responsibilities
Perform blood collection using venipuncture and capillary techniques.
Handle pediatric blood collections and difficult draws.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and communicate their importance to the team.
Provide orientation and training for patient service procedures.
Process specimens in an inpatient setting.
Essential Skills
High School Diploma
CPT 1 License
At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting (including Pediatrics, ICU, High Volume, etc.)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
Openness to being called in and working the same day.
Ability to work on-call and per diem.
Work Environment
This position is strictly on-call due to union agreements, with most shifts available due to same-day call-outs. Candidates must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including weekends. The role requires wearing scrubs. Training will occur on the 1st shift, Monday-Friday, at one location for the first few weeks.
The opportunity allows for working primarily at one location but includes the possibility of picking up shifts at other sites to increase hours.
The position was created to address high volume and coverage needs.Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverside, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $ $26.00/hr.
