    phia is hiring a Cybersecurity SME to support a unique Federal review board responsible for investigating, evaluating, and reporting on notable cybersecurity incidents.

    The goal is to enhance the protection of our nation's networks and infrastructure and to inform and guide cybersecurity efforts across government, industry, and the broader security community.

    This role presents a meaningful and career-enhancing opportunity. This is a remote role.

    The ideal candidate will be able to work remotely and report occasionally to an on-site customer location in Arlington, VA.

    What You'll Do


    Provide mission support to the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency to carry out responsibilities associated with the Cyber Safety Review Board (CSRB).

    Provide forensic and technical cybersecurity expertise for various topics in support of Board activities, including research on cybersecurity issues and threats such as open-source software security practices, cybercriminal culture and ecosystem trends, vulnerability management and response, industry best practices and standards, IT systems and management, control systems, and evolving threat activity.

    Assist in the development of an end-to-end tracking tool to enable efficient information collection, validation, and general-to-granular categorization.

    Collect and analyze public and nonpublic documents, reports, assessments, stakeholder interviews, expert briefings, and other records regarding the causes of cyber incidents or adjacent events.

    Identify relevant subject matter experts (SMEs) and other sources, including individuals or entities involved in cyber incidents or adjacent events.

    Develop targeted questions and topical recommendations for interviews, briefings, and requests for information (RFI).

    Prepare written analysis (reports, presentations, whitepapers, etc.) of cyber events and incident response processes, including a factual record of events and technical analysis of causes and remediation of cyber incidents.

    Perform evaluations of topics, including Apache Software Foundation vulnerability response, vulnerability activity and exploitation trends, remediation and mitigation guidance provided by the federal government and security vendors, vulnerability management processes of affected public and private organizations, and adversary adoption and targeting trends.

    Directly engage and collaborate with the CSRB Chair, Co-Chair, and Board members to draft a detailed report, per CSRB principles, examining factual information, findings and conclusions, and recommendations related to the primary topics of the review.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Experience Requirements

    Ability to communicate and collaborate with various audiences from technical analysts (e.g., malware analysts, Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) analysts, Incident Response

    (IR) and Cyber Hunt analysts), to academic researchers, to business and functional managers and leaders, to senior executivesin both the public and private sectors.
    Strong written and verbal communication
    BS/BA and 6 years of relevant work experience
    Security Clearance

    U.S. citizenship
    Active TS/SCI
    Ability to obtain DHS suitability (EOD)
    Preferred Certifications (one or more)

    Security+, CEH, CISSP or similar
    GIAC foundational security certifications (e.g. GISF, GSEC, etc.)
