    Description

    Job Summary

    The Project Portfolio Manager performs hand-on leadership and responsible administrative and professional work for leading the day-to-day assignments of Project Management Office for automated capabilities supporting business processes and technology infrastructure needed to meet business needs. Maintains project oversight responsibility for all other projects assigned.

    ****While the position is hybrid, there will be an expectation during the on-boarding/training period, the employee will need to be on-site.****

    Essential Duties

    What will you be doing?

    Provide leadership and is the key point of contact for the Project Management Office; maintains project oversight responsibility for all other projects assigned.

    Perform highly complex cost/benefit analysis to make and recommend business solution purchases and investment decisions. Synthesizes complex requirements and constraints to generate and recommend feasible and appropriate modifications to the business model, service support, and service delivery systems used and executed by the business unit.

    Supervise professional staff, assigns work, evaluates performance, and manages the operations involved with the business units; mentors staff and provides guidance, coaching, and training based on individual development needs with an emphasis on collaboration, customer service, innovation, and proficiency.

    Minimum Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • Equivalency of Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems
    • Seven years of progressively challenging experience in project management or IT management.
    • Certification as a Project Management Professional at the ITIL Foundation level or must obtain within 1 year of employment.
    • Must have a reliable form of transportation for the performance of work responsibilities.
    • Experience managing business relationships and influencing successful strategies for technology-driven solutions.
    • Experience supporting Return on Investment and Total Cost of Ownership financial modeling and Cost/Benefit analysis.
    • Experience working with and administering knowledge of enterprise-wide technologies in areas such as network infrastructure, server architecture, application architecture, SQL server databases, data conversions, querying and analyzing data, reporting tools, and systems integrations.
    PREFERRED:
    • MBA
    • Experience in Government/Public Service
    • Experience in ServiceNow's Project Portfolio Management, Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint.

    Selection for this position will be based on a minimum qualifications screening and rating of training and experience. Top candidates will be forwarded to the hiring manager or supervisor for consideration for interview and/or additional assessments. Final selection will include a background check and approval by the County Board.
