Description
The Clinical Supervisor, in collaboration with and underthe direction of the Nursing Department Director/Manager, isaccountable for ongoing shift leadership and operations of aclinical department and for nursing care safety and quality. TheClinical Supervisor uses sound human resource and budget principlesto guide the daily provision of nursing services to patients andfamilies. The Clinical Supervisor supports comprehensive patientand family services through effective participation with theinterdisciplinary team. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible forsupervising nursing department associates and providing patientcare when needed. Coaches and guides employees under his/hersupervision. Demonstrates Professionalism and Excellence byperforming as role model for clinical and serviceexcellence.
Requirements
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Graduate of anaccredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred. National specialtycertification preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:Current RN license in the State of New Mexico.Current BLS Certification. Current ACLS Certification or obtainwithin 6 months. Current PALS/NRP if applicable to area. CurrentTNCC if applicable to area or obtain within 6 months. Current CPIor equivalent must be obtained within six months for BehavioralHealth and Emergency Department. BLS, ACLS and PALS must be issuedthrough American Heart Association.
SKILLS: Must be able todemonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to providecare/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on theassigned unit/department.
EXPERIENCE: 3 years relevantexperience.

Works irregularhours. Multiple simultaneous activities of patient care. Exposureto infectious diseases and x-rays. Exposure to varyingunpredictable situations.
PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS: Must be able to handle emergencysituations, prolonged, extensive or considerable standing. Hasknowledge of and uses good body mechanics. Occasionally positions,pushes and/or transfers patients or equipment. Hearing and visualacuity within normal limits. Manual dexterity and fine motorcoordination required
