    Description

    Role:

    CNC Programmer/Process EngineerSalary range: $30+/hr DOEJob type: Full-TimeLocation: Auburn, CAResponsibilities::Programming of CNC machines while ensuring the efficient operation ofthe various machines within machining department.

    This includes setting upmachines for programming prove-out, determining the necessary processes required tomeet the projected production volumes, recommending fixtures, etc.


    Job Responsibilities:


    Program CNC Mill's, Lathe's, and Swiss machinesPerform job set up and tear downOrder tools, Pre-set toolsReview and edit posted NC code for component revisions and tool path optimizationSet controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

    Study blueprints and drawings to understand product dimensions and tolerances and how stated component specifications will drive the machining process, including but not limited to:

    fixturing, cutting tooling development, work holding solutions, tool path development, inspection plan, CNC programReview and edit posted NC code for component revisions and tool path optimizationWork with R and D, and Manufacturing Engineering during design process to offer suggestions for improved manufacturability of machined components required to input production data into computer using SAP and SharePoint.

    Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts.

    Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.

    Ability to perform checks using methods such as FARO, hard gaging (usingmicrometers, bore gages and the like).


    Experience:


    5-axis machine programming, Mill, Lathe, and Swiss3+ years programming experience (MasterCam/Esprit preferred)General understanding of cutting tools and ability to identify proper tool when tool changes are required.

    Experience of machining tight tolerance parts is beneficial.
    Working knowledge of GD&T dimensioning is required.
    Basic knowledge of trigonometry.
    Knowledge of G & M codes.
    Knowledge of Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls.
    Basic knowledge of Vericut helpful.
    Advanced programming ability including macro B programming, offset error checking is beneficial.
    Automation development experience is beneficial.

    Working knowledge of LOTOAbility to read and explain blueprints is a mustProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to stand for long periods of time, lift 20 lbsEducation:
    Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum of 7 years' experience working in a machining environmentMinimum of 7 successful years' experience in leadership/management positionsExperience as a trainer -instructor of machining operations, programmers, machinist and operators
