With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital, 130 SC-252, Anderson, SC 29621.
As the Registered Nurse, working under general supervision, you will plan for and provide nursing care for adult patients, ages 18 and above, with responsibility for assessment of nursing needs and the delegation of selected assignments for care to non-licensed nursing personnel. This position will apply a higher level of knowledge in age-specific criteria and interventions appropriate for effective and therapeutic interaction with psychiatric patients including those who have diverse backgrounds, disabilities and co-occurring disorders. In this role you will also relieve Nurse Managers as appropriate and may work as a Charge Nurse when a Permanent Charge Nurse is not available.
This job posting is intended to fill any vacant Registered Nurse position(s) within Harris Psychiatric Hospital on the evening and/or night shift.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Agency Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in Nursing; or a diploma in Nursing; or an associate's degree in Nursing. Must be licensed by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing. Note: If any Agency Requirements are listed above, applicants must also meet those requirements to be considered for the position. Salary may vary depending on experience and qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in nursing and one (1) year experience; or a three (3) year diploma and one (1) year experience; or an associate degree in nursing and one (1) year clinical experience in psychiatric, geriatric or medical-surgical nursing, as appropriate to the mission of the employing facility.
Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
Additional Comments
This position requires flexibility in your work hours to include weekends and holidays coverage.
