    Description

    SUMMARY:


    The Sonographer, under the general supervision of the Director, Radiology, provides care to patients for the purpose of diagnostic and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorder by means of ultrasonography; works effectively with patients and other clinic personnel.


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    Formal training which will probably be indicated by an AMA approved school for ultrasonography; successful completion resulting in registration with the ARDMS or ARRT


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    Two years experience in Ultrasound; current CPR certification


    PHYSICAL GUIDELINES:


    Ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps; for up to eight hours per day; assist patients in turning; assist patients in lying down on and arising from the table safely; push wheelchair patients; assist patients in arising from and returning to wheelchair safely; move, lift and position materials weighing up to 20 pounds; exposure to hazardous materials; manual dexterity and motor coordination; visual and auditory acuity.
